Breast Lift

Breast lift surgery or Mastopexy is performed to lift and reshape the sagging breasts. It may be performed along with a Silicone Breast Implant Augmentation procedure.

With aging the support ligaments of breast become lax. Due to multiple pregnancies and breast feeding the breasts undergo tremendous inflation and deflation. This results in sagging or ptosis of the breasts. The upper part becomes hollow and the lower part hangs over the abdomen. Ideally the nipples should look straight forwards or slightly upwards but in sagged or ptotic breasts they face downwards.

Before The Surgery

A thorough evaluation is required before the surgery. This includes a detailed assessment of any previous medical history as well as analysis of body measurements. The plan for surgery is devised according to your specific requirement. Before the surgery the doctor discuss all the pros and cons in depth so that you can make an informed decision.

On the day of the surgery you are asked to come to the hospital on empty stomach. You will given a surgical scrub solution and asked to scrub the night before and on the day of the surgery from head to toes.

An appointment is fixed with the surgeon just before the surgery. At that time the surgeon will guide you through the procedure, draw out all necessary markings and explain and discuss the incisions with you. You will have plenty of time time to ask any last minute questions.

Surgery

The surgery is performed under General Anesthesia and you will be asleep through out the procedure. The procedure performed depends on the amount of reshaping that is required. Different procedures require different types of incisions.  Most of these incisions are well hidden and not visible on casual observation.

After Surgery

Immediately after the surgery the patient is shifted to the ward. Stay at the hospital for day is required for a day for observation. During the surgery dressings are placed and supportive bra is applied which are removed after 3-5 days. Breast support Bra are required thereafter.  All the Post-Operative Care instructions will be explained to you and a Post-Operative Care & Instruction Sheet will be given at the time of discharge.
