Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Tightening

Introduction to Radiofrequency Skin Tightening

Radiofrequency skin tightening (RF) is an aesthetic technique that uses RF energy to heat tissue and stimulate sub-dermal collagen production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin.

The technique induces tissue remodeling and production of new collagen and elastin. The process provides an alternative to Facelift and other cosmetic surgeries.

A bodily protein made up of amino-acids, collagen is the part of the connective tissue that helps in firmness, strength, suppleness, and elasticity in skin.

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening works well to rejuvenate the face and remove fine wrinkles.

How is Radiofrequency skin tightening procedure performed

It is an outpatient procedure, meaning there's no overnight stay. First your skin is cleaned thoroughly.

The probe of the Radiofrequency machine is gently applied over the skin in a gliding movement from one region to another. There is a mild heating sensation which is easily tolerable.

When heat is applied to the skin up-to a certain temperature two important things happen. One the existing collagen fibers contract and secondly the collagen producing cells are stimulated which lay down more collage. So heat is the key here.

At Kalpana Aesthetics we evaluate the entire face as a whole and suggest the best customized treatment plan for you.
